One of my fondest childhood memories is sitting in my great-grandmother’s house in West Texas watching The Jungle Book with my siblings. I was enchanted by the idea of a boy raised by animals in the wild, and ran around their farm for days singing, “The Bare Necessities.”
I am so excited to see the Disney movies from my childhood make their way out of the vault and into my family’s collection. I’ just know that my son will *love* The Jungle Book, and can’t wait to pick up the Blu-Ray/Combo Pack Diamond Edition at Walmart on February 11.
Walmart is the only place you can receive a FREE Jungle Book lunchbox with your purchase of the Diamond edition!
In anticipation of the release — and to get my son excited about eating some yummy fruit — I shopped for some #JungleFresh produce at Walmart for this sponsored post via #CollectiveBias to create these “Bare Necessities” Fresh Fruit Pops.
There are so many colorful and fresh produce options at Walmart. I make a point to swing by there and pick up fruit anytime I’m on a grocery run. We run through fruit constantly in our family — if given the choice between an apple or orange, and a cookie, my son will take the fruit anytime.
It’s a blessing, but also means that we have to keep fresh fruit on hand all the time since he asks for it constantly. Luckily, Walmart has me covered.
I love the simplicity of these Fresh Fruit Pops. All you need is a popsicle mold, coconut water (available in the bottled water aisle at Walmart), and some sliced fresh fruit, and you’ve got a yummy, healthy treat that your kids will be begging for again and again.
Bare Necessities Fresh Fruit Pops
Inspired by The Jungle Book
2-3 Kiwis, peeled and sliced
1 pkg Fresh Strawberries, sliced
2-3 Tangerine Oranges, peeled and sliced
1 pkg Fresh Blueberries
Add cut up fruit to popsicle mold — it’s ok if there are spaces. You don’t want the fruit to be packed too tightly.
Pour in coconut water until it reaches the top of each popsicle mold.
Freeze the molds overnight, or until solid. Once frozen, remove from mold and serve immediately.
Tip: To get the popsicles to separate from the mold easily, run the plastic under warm water until they will easily slide out.
And now, the moment of truth…
